Amana Stove Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with Amana and are not one of its service centers. A stove still covered by the Amana warranty belongs with Amana first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How a Stove Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

What's inside an Amana stove

Amana stoves are simple freestanding ranges that often end up in rentals and older kitchens. Gas versions lose oven igniters more than any other part, and surface burners that click but do not light usually need their caps seated or their ports cleared. Electric coil stoves burn receptacles and break bake elements. Older kitchen wiring can be part of the picture: a loose connection at the outlet or a worn cord can make a stove lose power. Anti-tip brackets tend to vanish when a range is swapped or a floor is redone, and one should be in place before the stove goes back into use. On gas stoves, the flex connector and shutoff behind the unit get a look whenever the stove is pulled out, and any fitting we loosen is leak-checked.

Parts that tend to fail on Amana stoves

  • Oven igniter weak
  • Coil receptacle burned
  • Bake element broken
  • Surface burner not lighting
  • Power cord or outlet loose

FAQ

Amana Stove: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

Gas stoves get the oven igniter tested first. On electric models, the bake element and the oven thermostat or sensor. Both are common, inexpensive repairs.

For an igniter, element, receptacle or switch, usually yes. For a gas valve or control board on an older stove, a new basic range may cost about the same. We give you both options.
