What's inside a Kenmore stove
Kenmore stoves are standard freestanding ranges, gas or electric, and they are common in rentals and older kitchens across Pittsburgh. Many were built by Frigidaire. On gas models, the oven's hot-surface igniter wears over time, and surface burners click or fail to light after spills. Electric coil stoves have receptacle blocks that burn, and bake elements that break. If the anti-tip bracket disappeared during a move or a new floor, it needs to go back in. With older kitchen wiring, a stove that trips a breaker or shows no power may have a problem at the outlet or cord, not in the stove itself.
Parts that tend to fail on Kenmore stoves
- Oven igniter weak
- Surface burner not igniting
- Coil receptacle burned
- Bake element broken
- Power cord or outlet failing

Usually a weak oven igniter that glows but does not open the gas valve. We test the igniter's current draw and then check the valve if needed.
It can be a shorted element or a burned receptacle, but it can also be the outlet, cord or circuit. We test the stove's components and tell you if the problem is in the wiring instead.
