LG Stove Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

How LG builds its stoves
Basic LG freestanding stoves are common in rental units and older kitchens: a gas or electric top with a single oven below and simple controls. Gas models use a hot-surface bake igniter, a gas valve and a safety valve, and a weak igniter that glows without lighting the burner is the most common oven failure. Electric models use coil or smoothtop elements and a hidden or exposed bake element. Surface burner clicks and failed lighting usually come from moisture or debris at the igniter. With LG gas stoves on natural gas in older homes, we also check the flexible connector and shutoff, and leak-test any gas fitting we touch.
Parts that tend to fail on LG stoves
- Bake igniter glowing without lighting
- Surface burner igniter clicking nonstop
- Hidden bake element failed
- Oven sensor reading off
- Infinite switch burned out
The general stove repair guide covers faults that turn up on every make.
LG Stove: Questions We Hear
Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.
Something else on your mind?
Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.
A slow-lighting oven usually has a weak igniter that barely opens the valve, which can release a small amount of gas before it lights. It should be repaired soon. If you ever smell a strong gas odor, leave the house and call your gas utility from outside.
That usually means the infinite switch controlling that element has failed. We test the switch and the element before replacing it.
