Thermador Stove Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with Thermador and are not one of its service centers. A stove still covered by the Thermador warranty belongs with Thermador first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How a Stove Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

How Thermador builds its stoves

In daily use a Thermador stove mostly throws small, fixable faults. Star burners have more edge ports than round ones, so a single clogged point shows as a gap, and the caps need to be seated to spread flame evenly. The igniters sit close to the burner and crack under dropped pots. On ExtraLow burners the relighting click during simmer is normal. The oven below, whether gas or electric, drifts off temperature with age, and older self-clean cycles wear out door locks. We clean, reseat and light every burner at each setting and check the oven temperature before quoting parts.

Parts that tend to fail on Thermador stoves

  • Star burner port blocked
  • Igniter cracked or weak
  • Spark switch holding after spill
  • Oven temperature running off
  • Door lock failing after cleaning

Symptoms that aren't specific to one maker are covered on our stove repair page.

FAQ

Thermador Stove: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

If you hear the click but see no flame, the igniter may be cracked or the ports clogged. If there's no click at that burner, the igniter or its wire is likely the problem. We test the spark, clean the ports and check gas flow.

On ExtraLow burners, yes. They cycle the flame to keep a very low simmer. On other burners, a flame that goes out and relights usually means dirty ports or a draft, and we check both.
