Electrolux Microwave Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with Electrolux and are not one of its service centers. A microwave still covered by the Electrolux warranty belongs with Electrolux first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How a Microwave Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

How Electrolux builds its microwaves

Electrolux microwaves come as over-the-range units with a vent fan and cooktop light, built-in models that sit in a wall stack or wall-oven combination, and drawer microwaves mounted under a counter. They all share the same high-voltage circuit of magnetron, capacitor, diode and transformer, plus a set of door interlock switches that must close in order, which keeps the list of causes short when the turntable spins but food stays cold. Over-the-range models add a vent fan, grease filters and lights. Drawer models add a motor and track that open and close the drawer. The capacitor can hold a dangerous charge, so we discharge it before testing anything inside.

Parts that tend to fail on Electrolux microwaves

  • Magnetron not heating
  • Door switch failed
  • Turntable motor stopped
  • Vent fan noisy
  • Drawer not opening

FAQ

Electrolux Microwave: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

Often yes, especially on built-in or drawer models. The cause is usually a magnetron, diode or door switch. We test each and quote before any work.

Grease on the fan blades or worn motor bearings are the usual causes, and a clogged grease filter makes the fan work harder. We clean or replace the filters and check the motor, replacing it if the bearings are rough.
