Electrolux Cooktop Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with Electrolux and are not one of its service centers. A cooktop still covered by the Electrolux warranty belongs with Electrolux first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How a Cooktop Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

How Electrolux builds its cooktops

Gas, radiant and induction Electrolux cooktops look alike from above but break in unrelated ways. Gas models use sealed burners and electronic spark ignition, so the usual complaints are igniters that won't fire, spark switches that stick after a spill and clogged burner ports. Radiant electric tops put ribbon elements under ceramic glass, controlled by infinite switches or electronic touch controls, with a limiter that cuts the element if the glass overheats. Induction tops use copper coils, power boards and a cooling fan, and they won't respond to a pan that isn't magnetic. Both electric types can crack when something heavy lands on the glass. We confirm the model and fuel type before the visit so we test the right system first.

Parts that tend to fail on Electrolux cooktops

  • Spark switch shorted by spill
  • Radiant element open
  • Induction board failing
  • Cooling fan noisy
  • Glass top cracked

FAQ

Electrolux Cooktop: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

The element itself, the switch or touch control that feeds it, or a loose terminal behind the glass can each leave one burner cold. We measure the element and check the power reaching it before replacing anything.

Cracked glass can't be patched safely; the top has to be replaced. Electrolux often sells the glass only together with its frame, and on some tops the elements come attached. We look up the part before quoting and you can weigh that against a new cooktop.
