Admiral Microwave Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals
We have no affiliation with Admiral and are not one of its service centers. A microwave still covered by the Admiral warranty belongs with Admiral first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

What's inside an Admiral microwave
Admiral microwaves are countertop or over-the-range units with simple electronics. Three interlock switches confirm the door is shut; if one fails, the oven blows its main fuse or refuses to start. A microwave that runs, lights up and turns the plate but doesn't heat usually has a failed magnetron, diode or high-voltage capacitor. Over-the-range models add a vent fan, a light and a mounting plate over the range, which makes removal a two-person job. Since the capacitor holds a dangerous charge even when unplugged, internal testing isn't something to try at home.
Parts that tend to fail on Admiral microwaves
- Door interlock switch failed
- Main fuse blown
- Magnetron not heating food
- High-voltage diode shorted
- Turntable motor stopped

Something else on your mind?
Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.
For a countertop model, often not, since a magnetron can cost a good part of a new unit. Over-the-range models are more often worth repairing because they're installed. We quote it and let you decide.
A blown main fuse is common, and it often blows because a door interlock switch has failed. We replace the fuse and check the switches, otherwise the new fuse will blow too.
