Avanti Microwave Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals
We have no affiliation with Avanti and are not one of its service centers. A microwave still covered by the Avanti warranty belongs with Avanti first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

What's inside an Avanti microwave
Avanti microwaves are countertop and compact models sized for small kitchens, offices and dorm-style rooms. Most repairs fall into a few groups. A unit that runs, lights and turns but does not heat has a fault in the high-voltage section: the magnetron, the diode, the capacitor or the transformer. A unit that is completely dead often has blown its main fuse, frequently because a door interlock switch failed. Sparking inside usually traces to a burned waveguide cover or damaged paint in the cavity. Because a microwave's capacitor can hold a dangerous charge after unplugging, this is work to leave to a technician. On an inexpensive countertop unit, a magnetron replacement often isn't worth it.
Parts that tend to fail on Avanti microwaves
- Magnetron no longer heating food
- Door interlock switch failed
- Main fuse blown, no power
- Waveguide cover burned and sparking
- Turntable motor not turning
Symptoms that aren't specific to one maker are covered on our microwave repair page.
Avanti Microwave: Questions We Hear
Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.
Something else on your mind?
Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.
The high-voltage parts are the likely cause, most often the magnetron or diode. On a small countertop unit, those parts plus labor can approach the price of a new microwave. We diagnose which part failed and tell you honestly whether the repair is worth it.
A blown internal fuse is the usual cause, and it often blows because a door interlock switch failed. Replacing the fuse alone can fail again, so we test the interlocks and the monitor switch as part of the same repair.
