Frigidaire Microwave Repair in Pittsburgh

Frigidaire microwaves fixed at home across Pittsburgh and nearby boroughs. Over-the-range, countertop and built-in microwaves. Units that hum without heating, burned interlock switches, noisy hood fans, stalled turntables and dead keypads make up most of the work.

Frigidaire Microwave Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with Frigidaire and are not one of its service centers. A microwave still covered by the Frigidaire warranty belongs with Frigidaire first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How a Microwave Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

How Frigidaire builds its microwaves

Frigidaire microwaves include over-the-range units that also serve as the vent hood, plus countertop and built-in models. When a microwave runs without heating, the magnetron, diode, capacitor and transformer are tested, and the capacitor is discharged first. Door switches wear and can blow the main fuse, leaving the unit dead. The vent fan on an over-the-range model can wear and rattle, and the turntable motor can fail. A keypad that doesn't respond to certain buttons often needs a new membrane. Because replacement is affordable, we weigh the repair against a new unit.

Parts that tend to fail on Frigidaire microwaves

  • Magnetron failed
  • Door switch blown
  • Vent fan motor worn
  • Turntable motor stopped
  • Keypad membrane failing

Symptoms that aren't specific to one maker are covered on our microwave repair page.

FAQ

Frigidaire Microwave: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

It depends on the part and the unit's age. A diode or door switch is minor, while a magnetron on an older unit may push toward replacement. We diagnose first.

Frequently one of the door interlocks shorted and took the fuse with it. We replace the pair and test the switches so the fuse doesn't blow again.
