Fisher & Paykel Microwave Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals
We have no affiliation with Fisher & Paykel and are not one of its service centers. A microwave still covered by the Fisher & Paykel warranty belongs with Fisher & Paykel first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.
How a Microwave Repair Visit Works
Describe the Problem
The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.
Diagnosis On Site
The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

How Fisher & Paykel builds its microwaves
Fisher & Paykel microwaves are built-in appliances: microwave ovens set into a wall column, combination speed ovens that add convection, and microwave drawers under a counter or island. They share the same high-voltage section of magnetron, diode, capacitor and transformer, guarded by door interlock switches. The drawer version adds a motorized mechanism with gears, rails and position switches, and a drawer that stalls halfway or won't close is a common complaint, often caused by crumbs in the tracks. The capacitor can hold a dangerous charge long after the power is off, so that section is one for a technician. Because these units are fitted into cabinetry, repair usually makes more sense than replacement.
Parts that tend to fail on Fisher & Paykel microwaves
- Magnetron or diode failed, no heat
- Door interlock switch fault
- Drawer opening mechanism stalled
- Touch control not responding
- Convection element or fan failure

Something else on your mind?
Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.
Yes. The drawer runs on a motor, gears and rails, with switches that tell it where it is. Debris in the tracks, a failed motor or a switch fault are all repairable. We check the mechanism before looking at the control.
Something in the high-voltage section: the magnetron, diode, capacitor or transformer, or a door switch that lets the fan and light run but blocks power to heat. We discharge the capacitor safely and test each part.
