Miele Microwave Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with Miele and are not one of its service centers. A microwave still covered by the Miele warranty belongs with Miele first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How a Microwave Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

How Miele builds its microwaves

Miele microwaves in American kitchens are usually built-in: countertop-style microwaves in a trim kit, and speed ovens that combine microwave energy with convection heat and often sit above a wall oven. The microwave side follows the standard circuit of magnetron, high-voltage capacitor, diode and transformer, plus door interlock switches that must close in the right order. Speed ovens add a convection fan, an element and sometimes a grill element, so a unit that microwaves but won't bake has a different fault than one that won't heat at all. Even unplugged, the capacitor may still carry a lethal charge, so we discharge it before testing and never recommend opening one yourself.

Parts that tend to fail on Miele microwaves

  • No heat in microwave mode
  • Door interlock switch failed
  • Convection element on speed oven open
  • Touch control not responding
  • Cooling fan noisy

FAQ

Miele Microwave: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

The convection side is working, so the fault is in the microwave circuit: the magnetron, diode, capacitor, transformer or a door switch. We bleed off the stored charge first, then test those parts one at a time.

Usually, since replacements must match the cutout and trim. We quote the repair after testing and tell you if it isn't worth doing.
