Insignia Microwave Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals
We have no affiliation with Insignia and are not one of its service centers. A microwave still covered by the Insignia warranty belongs with Insignia first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.
How a Microwave Repair Visit Works
Describe the Problem
The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.
Diagnosis On Site
The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.
Explanation and Quote
You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.
Repair and Test
The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.
What's inside an Insignia microwave
Insignia microwaves are mostly countertop models built by outside manufacturers. The high-voltage parts are the same as in any microwave: magnetron, capacitor, diode and transformer, protected by door interlock switches. A microwave that goes completely dead often has a blown fuse from a door switch fault, while one that runs without heating usually has a failed magnetron or diode. Touchpads can stop responding, and turntable motors wear out. On an inexpensive countertop model the repair often isn't worth it, and we'll say so after a quick diagnosis. The capacitor can hold a charge after the unit is unplugged, so please don't open the case yourself.
Parts that tend to fail on Insignia microwaves
- Door switch fault blowing fuse
- Magnetron failed
- High-voltage diode shorted
- Touchpad not responding
- Turntable motor stopped

Insignia Microwave: Questions We Hear
Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.
Something else on your mind?
Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.
Often not. The magnetron or diode is the usual cause, and on an inexpensive countertop model the repair can come close to the price of a new one. We confirm the fault and let you decide.
The coupler under the tray or the turntable motor has failed, or the roller ring is out of place. Check the ring and coupler first. The motor is a small part if it needs replacing.
