Samsung Microwave Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with Samsung and are not one of its service centers. A microwave still covered by the Samsung warranty belongs with Samsung first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How a Microwave Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

How Samsung builds its microwaves

Over-the-range Samsung microwaves also serve as the kitchen's range hood, with a fan, lights and a grease filter under the cabinet. A microwave that runs, spins and lights up but doesn't heat has a problem in the high-voltage section: the magnetron, the diode, the capacitor or a thermal protector. Those parts hold a dangerous charge after unplugging, which is why we handle them rather than suggesting a DIY repair. Door switches wear and blow a fuse when they fail out of sequence. Keypads stop responding, often starting with one or two buttons. Removing an over-the-range unit takes two people and access to the mounting bolts in the cabinet above, so we plan for that before the visit.

Parts that tend to fail on Samsung microwaves

  • Magnetron or diode failed, no heat
  • Door switch worn and blowing the fuse
  • Keypad buttons not responding
  • Vent fan motor noisy or stopped
  • Turntable motor not turning

Samsung Microwave: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

On an over-the-range model, repair often makes sense because replacement also means reinstalling a hood. A magnetron, diode or capacitor failure is fixable. On a basic countertop unit, replacing it is often the better call, and we'll tell you so.

We don't recommend it. A microwave's high-voltage capacitor can stay charged at a deadly level well after the plug is pulled. Checking the door and the fuse area safely requires discharging it first.
