How Frigidaire builds its refrigerators
Many Frigidaire side-by-sides put the ice maker inside the freezer door, feeding the dispenser directly. It saves shelf space but the ice bucket and auger can jam when cubes melt together, and frost can build around the door-mounted ice maker if the door seal is weak. French-door models may have the ice maker in the fresh-food section, sealed in an insulated box with its own cold air duct, and a leak or blocked duct turns cubes into clumps. Top-freezer Frigidaires are simple machines where a defrost failure or fan motor is the usual culprit. A clogged condenser underneath can also make any model run warm.
