How Turbo Air builds its refrigerators
Turbo Air reach-ins and prep tables use a bottom- or top-mounted condensing unit, a fan-driven evaporator inside, and a digital controller that reads cabinet temperature from a probe. The self-cleaning condenser on many models sweeps a filter screen, but kitchen grease can coat the coil behind it anyway, so we still inspect and clean it by hand. After airflow, we check the evaporator fan, the probe and the controller. On prep tables, the rail is cooled by forced air from below, and lids left open or pans packed too full will warm the rail while the cabinet stays cold. Door gaskets on busy units split at the corners and let warm air in with every shift.
Parts that tend to fail on Turbo Air refrigerators
- Condenser coil greased over behind the filter
- Evaporator fan motor failed
- Temperature probe or controller fault
- Prep rail pans running warm
- Split door gasket on a busy reach-in

Something else on your mind?
Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.
The probe may be reading wrong, or it may sit where air is coldest while other areas warm up. A blocked air path or failing fan can cause uneven temperatures. We check with a separate thermometer.
No. It reduces how often the condenser needs cleaning, but grease and heavy dust still build up. Check it regularly, especially near fryers and ovens.
