Perlick Refrigerator Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with Perlick and are not one of its service centers. A refrigerator still covered by the Perlick warranty belongs with Perlick first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How a Refrigerator Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

How Perlick builds its refrigerators

Perlick's undercounter refrigerators and drawers push condenser air in and out through the kickplate grille, since a built-in unit has no room to vent behind. That puts a lot of weight on the condenser fan and on keeping the grille and coil clean. When a Perlick runs warm, we check airflow at the front before anything else, then the evaporator fan, the temperature sensor and the controls. Drawer models add their own wear points: slides that bind under load and gaskets that stop sealing when a drawer is slammed. Panel-ready doors are heavy, and a sagging hinge can hold a door just far enough open to frost the evaporator. Most of these are front-accessible repairs.

Parts that tend to fail on Perlick refrigerators

  • Cabinet warm from a clogged kickplate grille
  • Condenser or evaporator fan stopped
  • Refrigerator drawer slides binding
  • Heavy panel door sagging on its hinge
  • Frost on the evaporator from a leaking gasket

FAQ

Perlick Refrigerator: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

Usually not. The cause is often a bent or worn slide, something jammed behind the drawer, or a gasket that has lost its shape. We check the slides and seal and replace the worn part.

Frost usually means warm, moist air is getting in, typically past a door gasket or a door that doesn't close fully. A defrost or sensor problem is also possible. We check the seal and door first since that's the most common cause.
