A built-in houses its compressor and condenser above or below the cabinet, behind a grille, and they depend on that grille staying clear and the coils staying clean; a column boxed in with no airflow runs long and warm. Fan motors, defrost heaters and sensors are the most frequent failures, and a defrost fault usually shows up as a warm fresh-food section with a frosted coil behind the rear panel. Panel-ready doors carry heavy cabinet fronts, so hinges need adjustment over time. We check airflow and temperatures first, then the defrost parts, and only after that the sealed system.
