Samsung Refrigerator Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with Samsung and are not one of its service centers. A refrigerator still covered by the Samsung warranty belongs with Samsung first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How a Refrigerator Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

How Samsung builds its refrigerators

Most Samsung refrigerator calls come back to cold air and frost. French-door models keep the ice maker in an insulated ice room on the left door, chilled by freezer air pushed through a duct; when a door seal, the ice room gasket or the duct lets moist air in, frost builds, the ice maker jams and water can drip onto the floor. Twin Cooling Plus units also have a separate fresh-food evaporator and fan, and ice on those fan blades makes a rattling or buzzing sound. Behind many of these symptoms is a defrost problem: a heater, sensor or drain line that can't clear the coil. Fixing the defrost fault and the leak path, not only chipping the ice away, is what keeps it from returning.

Parts that tend to fail on Samsung refrigerators

  • Ice room frosting and jamming the ice maker
  • Fresh-food evaporator fan iced and noisy
  • Defrost heater or sensor not clearing frost
  • Water valve leaking or not opening
  • Water pooling under the crisper drawers

Samsung Refrigerator: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

Usually warm, moist air is reaching the ice room through a worn gasket or a leaking duct, or the drain and defrost system is not clearing the frost. Thawing it only buys time. We find where the moisture is entering and repair that, then check the ice maker itself.

On many Samsung models the noise is a fan blade touching ice that has built up around it, often in the fresh-food evaporator area. The compressor is usually fine. The real repair is whatever defrost or drainage fault let the ice form.
