Fisher & Paykel Refrigerator Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with Fisher & Paykel and are not one of its service centers. A refrigerator still covered by the Fisher & Paykel warranty belongs with Fisher & Paykel first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How a Refrigerator Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

How Fisher & Paykel builds its refrigerators

Fisher & Paykel refrigerators fall into two families. Freestanding ActiveSmart models, often bottom-freezer or French-door, use sensors to learn how the doors are used and schedule defrost around that, and many run separate fans for the fresh-food and freezer sides. Integrated column models are panel-fronted and built to vanish into cabinetry, so most service happens from the front grille and inside the cabinet. In either family, a warm fresh-food side with a cold freezer usually comes down to airflow: a stalled fan, a stuck damper or an iced coil. Columns also depend on hinges holding a heavy panel in adjustment. A panel that drifts breaks the seal, and frost and sweating follow soon after.

Parts that tend to fail on Fisher & Paykel refrigerators

  • Evaporator iced from defrost fault
  • Fan motor stalled
  • Temperature sensor giving false readings
  • Ice maker not filling or ejecting
  • Heavy door panel drifting, seal broken

Symptoms that aren't specific to one maker are covered on our refrigerator repair page.

FAQ

Fisher & Paykel Refrigerator: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

The door alarm thinks the door is open. On integrated models, a panel that has dropped out of adjustment can hold the door just off its seal. On freestanding models, a bin or drawer can stop the door closing fully. We check alignment and the door switch or sensor before anything else.

Either humid air is getting in or defrost isn't clearing the coil. A worn gasket, a drawer that doesn't close square, or something caught in the seal lets moisture in, and muggy summer kitchens make any gap show fast. We check the seal and the defrost system together.
