How Dacor builds its refrigerators
Dacor's current refrigerators are Samsung-era built-ins: column refrigerators, freezers and wine units that can be combined side by side, plus built-in French-door models. They are frost-free with electronic controls reading thermistors in each zone, and many columns use separate evaporators so each column controls its own temperature. The failures we see are the familiar frost-free set: an evaporator iced over from a failed defrost heater or sensor, a fan that stops, an ice maker that won't fill because the water valve or line froze, and a door that no longer seals after hinge adjustment drifts. Because columns sit flush with cabinetry, clearing the front grille and leveling the unit matter.

Built-in doors carry heavy panels and use adjustable hinges. Over time the hinges can sag or the unit can settle out of level. We re-level the refrigerator and adjust the hinges, and check the gasket seal afterward.
