Admiral Dishwasher Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with Admiral and are not one of its service centers. A dishwasher still covered by the Admiral warranty belongs with Admiral first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How a Dishwasher Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

What's inside an Admiral dishwasher

Admiral dishwashers borrow the Whirlpool-family tub, pump and door. Newer ones have no grinder; food particles collect in a removable filter at the bottom, and if it isn't rinsed, dishes come out gritty and water sits in the tub. A drain pump that hums without moving water is the next thing we check, after the hose and the air gap or disposal connection. Door latch switches fail and stop the cycle before it starts. The exposed or hidden heating element and its thermal fuse decide whether dishes come out dry. A fill valve with a clogged screen fills too little, which weakens washing even though the machine seems to run normally.

Parts that tend to fail on Admiral dishwashers

  • Filter clogged, water left in tub
  • Drain pump humming, not draining
  • Door latch switch failed
  • Heating element not drying
  • Inlet valve screen clogged

The general dishwasher repair guide covers faults that turn up on every make.

FAQ

Admiral Dishwasher: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

Start with the filter at the bottom of the tub and the knockout plug if it was just connected to a new disposal. If those are clear, the drain hose, air gap or drain pump is next, and we test the pump directly.

Plastic items hold water on most dishwashers, but if everything is wet, the heating element or its fuse may have failed, or the rinse aid dispenser is empty. We check the element's resistance and the control's output.
