Viking Dishwasher Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals
We have no affiliation with Viking and are not one of its service centers. A dishwasher still covered by the Viking warranty belongs with Viking first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.
How a Dishwasher Repair Visit Works
Describe the Problem
The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.
Diagnosis On Site
The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.
Explanation and Quote
You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.
Repair and Test
The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.
How Viking builds its dishwashers
Viking dishwashers are built-in units, often with stainless fronts or custom panels, and a lot of their trouble is the ordinary kind. A filter packed with food leaves grit on dishes. A drain pump jammed by glass or a fruit pit leaves water in the tub. An inlet valve crusted with mineral scale fills slowly or not at all. Panel-ready doors add their own issue: a heavy wood panel can outrun the door springs, so the door drops open hard or will not stay partly closed. Leaks at the door or a worn tub gasket need attention quickly in any kitchen with a finished ceiling underneath, which in an older house often means plaster.
Parts that tend to fail on Viking dishwashers
- Filter clogged and leaving grit
- Drain pump jammed by glass or a pit
- Inlet valve scaled and filling slowly
- Door springs too weak for a heavy panel
- Door gasket leaking at the bottom

Viking Dishwasher: Questions We Hear
Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.
Something else on your mind?
Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.
Usually. The door springs are rated for a panel weight, and if the panel is heavier than the springs, the door falls. The springs or their tension setting are changed to suit the panel's weight.
Check and rinse the filter first. If the water stays, the drain pump may be jammed or failing, or the drain hose or disposer connection may be blocked. We test the pump and clear the drain path.
