Hotpoint Dishwasher Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with Hotpoint and are not one of its service centers. A dishwasher still covered by the Hotpoint warranty belongs with Hotpoint first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How a Dishwasher Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

What's inside a Hotpoint dishwasher

Hotpoint dishwashers are basic built-ins with a pump that both circulates and drains, a heating element for drying on many models, and a simple electronic control. In rentals they take hard use: food left on plates clogs the filter, and oversized pans block the spray arms. Water left in the bottom after a cycle often comes from a clogged filter, a disposal knockout plug that was never removed, or a kinked drain hose rather than a dead pump. A machine that won't fill usually has a failed inlet valve, or a supply valve under the sink that someone shut. Door latches and their switches wear too, and a worn latch keeps the cycle from starting at all.

Parts that tend to fail on Hotpoint dishwashers

  • Drain pump or filter clogged
  • Water inlet valve failed
  • Door latch switch broken
  • Heating element open
  • Control board not responding

FAQ

Hotpoint Dishwasher: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

Check the filter first, then the drain hose and air gap. If it drains through a disposal, make sure the knockout plug was removed when it was installed. If those are fine, we test the drain pump.

Often it's the door latch or its switch; the machine won't start unless it senses the door closed. We check the latch, the switch and the power supply before the control board.
