LG Dishwasher Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

How a Dishwasher Repair Visit Works
Describe the Problem
The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.
Diagnosis On Site
The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.
Explanation and Quote
You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.
Repair and Test
The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.
How LG builds its dishwashers
LG dishwashers use a direct-drive wash motor, and QuadWash models add multi-motion spray arms. The machine reports faults with codes: OE for draining, IE for filling, AE or E1 for water in the base pan, HE for a heater circuit problem and LE for the wash motor. A leak code needs the source traced, which is often a door gasket, excess suds, or a fitting under the tub. Slow draining usually starts with a filter that hasn't been cleaned, then a clogged drain hose or a garbage disposal knockout that was never removed. TrueSteam models add a steam generator and another point to check. Mineral scale from the water supply builds up in the spray arms and on the heater over time.
Parts that tend to fail on LG dishwashers
- Leak sensor tripped (AE)
- Drain pump or filter clogged (OE)
- Inlet valve not filling (IE)
- Heater circuit fault (HE)
- Spray arm jammed or scaled

LG Dishwasher: Questions We Hear
Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.
Something else on your mind?
Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.
It means the leak sensor in the base found water. Turn the machine off and dry what you can. Too much detergent or a rinse-aid leak can trigger it, but a real leak needs finding. We trace the water to its source before the code is reset.
It's possible. When a dishwasher drains into a new garbage disposal, the knockout plug inside the disposal inlet has to be removed. A kinked hose is the other common installation mistake. If both check out, we test the pump.
