Kenmore Dishwasher Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals
We have no affiliation with Kenmore and are not one of its service centers. A dishwasher still covered by the Kenmore warranty belongs with Kenmore first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

What's inside a Kenmore dishwasher
Kenmore and Kenmore Elite dishwashers have come from more than one manufacturer, so the prefix on the tub or door label tells us whose pump, valve and control board it uses. Across makers, the common problems are the same: a filter full of food leaving film and grit, a drain pump or check valve that leaves water standing in the tub, an inlet valve that fills slowly or not at all, and a door latch that no longer tells the control the door is shut. Mineral scale in the water supply builds up over time on the inlet valve screen and spray arm jets. Older models with manual-clean filters can hide a lot of debris in the sump.
Parts that tend to fail on Kenmore dishwashers
- Filter clogged and leaving grit
- Drain pump or check valve failing
- Inlet valve not filling
- Door latch not engaging
- Spray arm jets blocked by scale

Kenmore Dishwasher: Questions We Hear
Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.
Something else on your mind?
Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.
Often it is the filter. Many Kenmore dishwashers use a filter that should be removed and rinsed regularly. If that is clean, the spray arms, wash motor and water supply are checked.
Check the filter first. If water remains, the drain pump, check valve or drain hose may be clogged or failing, or the disposer connection may be blocked. We test the drain path in order.
