Hobart Dishwasher Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with Hobart and are not one of its service centers. A dishwasher still covered by the Hobart warranty belongs with Hobart first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How a Dishwasher Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

How Hobart builds its dishwashers

Every Hobart dish machine, from the LX-series undercounters to the AM-series door machines and the CL conveyors, runs the same basic loop: a wash tank heated by an element, a pump driving water through wash arms, and a final rinse at sanitizing temperature or with chemicals. Failures follow the wear points. Pump seals leak and let water toward the motor; wash arms lose pressure as their nozzles scale or clog; tank heaters burn out when scale insulates them; and door or rack-sensing switches stop a cycle before it starts. Conveyor machines add curtains and a drive mechanism that wear with every rack. Mineral-heavy incoming water speeds up scale, so the deliming interval matters more than people expect.

Parts that tend to fail on Hobart dishwashers

  • Wash pump seal leaking
  • Wash arms clogged with scale
  • Booster element or thermostat failed
  • Door or rack switch not closing
  • Rinse solenoid valve stuck

FAQ

Hobart Dishwasher: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

At the door switch first, because the machine won't run unless it senses the door fully closed. A bent door, a worn switch or loose wiring can all stop it. If that checks out, we look at the fill level, the tank temperature interlocks and the controls.

Usually the rinse or chemical side: an empty rinse aid or detergent container, a clogged rinse arm, or scale inside the machine. Water pressure and temperature play a part too. We check each on site and tell you which adjustment will help.
