JennAir Dishwasher Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals

We have no affiliation with JennAir and are not one of its service centers. A dishwasher still covered by the JennAir warranty belongs with JennAir first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.

Basement laundry
In older houses the washer and dryer are often downstairs, past narrow steps and low beams, draining to a laundry tub or floor drain. Tell us how to get down there.
Rowhouses & older homes
New appliances often sit on old wiring, gas lines and vents. We check what feeds the machine as well as the machine.
Hillsides & parking
Steps up to the front door, permit-only blocks, alley entrances. A note about access when you book gets the visit started sooner.
Rentals & landlords
Tenants can book. The owner or manager gets the diagnosis and the price, and approves before any work.
Cold garages & porches
A spare fridge or freezer in an unheated space may stop holding temperature in winter without anything having failed. Check the manual's temperature range first.
Honest advice
If an older machine isn't worth the repair, we'll tell you so, and explain what actually broke.

How a Dishwasher Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.

02

Diagnosis On Site

The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.

03

Explanation and Quote

You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.

04

Repair and Test

The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.

How JennAir builds its dishwashers

JennAir dishwashers share Whirlpool's dishwasher platform, the same basic design used across KitchenAid and Whirlpool, so the circulation pump, drain pump, inlet valve and filter system are familiar and many parts overlap. Many JennAir models are panel-ready, which puts extra weight on the door, and the door springs have to suit it; a door that drops open or slams shut often has a broken or mismatched spring. The filter at the bottom is designed to be removed and rinsed by hand, and when it isn't, washing and draining both suffer. Drain problems also come from the disposal connection or a kinked hose. An error on the display is often triggered by a failed part, so we test parts first.

Parts that tend to fail on JennAir dishwashers

  • Filter clogged, poor wash and drain
  • Drain pump failed
  • Inlet valve not filling
  • Door spring broken or mismatched
  • Heating element or thermistor fault

The general dishwasher repair guide covers faults that turn up on every make.

FAQ

JennAir Dishwasher: Questions We Hear

Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.

Something else on your mind?

Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.

The springs probably don't match the panel's weight, or one has broken. We replace or adjust the springs so the door balances where you leave it.

Rinse the filter at the bottom first; it's meant to be cleaned by hand. Check the spray arms for blockages too. If it still washes poorly, we test the pump and the water fill.
