Thermador Dishwasher Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals
We have no affiliation with Thermador and are not one of its service centers. A dishwasher still covered by the Thermador warranty belongs with Thermador first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.
How a Dishwasher Repair Visit Works
Describe the Problem
The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.
Diagnosis On Site
The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.
Explanation and Quote
You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.
Repair and Test
The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.
How Thermador builds its dishwashers
Thermador dishwashers are built on BSH's dishwasher platform, the same foundation used for Bosch, so their internals are familiar: a separate drain pump, a circulation pump with an integrated heater on most models, a flow-through water heater instead of an exposed element, and a leak-protection float in the base pan. When water reaches that pan, the float trips and the machine stops and drains. Door hinges use springs and cables that stretch or break, and a door that drops open is a common complaint. We lift out the filter, check the drain pump and sump, and inspect the base before replacing any electronics.
Parts that tend to fail on Thermador dishwashers
- Drain pump blocked with debris
- Leak float tripped by water in base
- Circulation pump heater failing
- Door hinge spring or cable broken
- Filter and sump clogged
Symptoms that aren't specific to one maker are covered on our dishwasher repair page.
Thermador Dishwasher: Questions We Hear
Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.
Something else on your mind?
Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.
The float in the base pan has detected water, often from a sump seal, a loose hose or suds from the wrong detergent. We find the source and fix it, dry the pan so the float resets, and run a test cycle.
BSH dishwashers dry mainly with residual heat and condensation, so a rinse aid dispenser that's empty or set low leaves more water behind. If that's in order, we check whether the heater in the circulation pump is actually heating the final rinse.
