How Dacor builds its cooktops
Dacor gas cooktops are known for illuminated knobs and high-output sealed burners, and many have a low-simmer setting designed for gentle heat. Ignition is electronic, with a spark module feeding igniters at every burner, and some models relight automatically if the flame goes out. That relight feature depends on the spark system sensing the flame, so a dirty igniter or a misaligned cap can cause repeated clicking even with a flame. The knob lights are powered separately and fail on their own. Induction and radiant tops follow electronic patterns instead: power boards, cooling fans and glass. Cooktops sit over drawers or ovens, so access and gas shutoff are checked first.
Parts that tend to fail on Dacor cooktops
- Auto-relight clicking with flame on
- Knob illumination not working
- Spark module failed
- Burner cap misaligned after cleaning
- Induction power board fault

Dacor Cooktop: Questions We Hear
Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.
Something else on your mind?
Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.
On cooktops with automatic reignition, the system must detect the flame through the igniter. Grease on the igniter, a misaligned cap or moisture makes it think the flame is out. Cleaning and drying often fixes it; otherwise we test the igniter and module.
Usually not. The knob lights are powered separately from the gas valves and igniters. The burners still work, but a failed light supply or harness can be replaced if you want the lights back.
