Fisher & Paykel Cooktop Repair in Houses, Apartments and Rentals
We have no affiliation with Fisher & Paykel and are not one of its service centers. A cooktop still covered by the Fisher & Paykel warranty belongs with Fisher & Paykel first. Once it's out of coverage, give us the model number and the symptom when you book so we can look into parts ahead of time.
How a Cooktop Repair Visit Works
Describe the Problem
The brand, the model number if it's handy, and what the appliance is doing. A photo of the rating label is a bonus.
Diagnosis On Site
The technician tests the appliance and its power, water, drain, gas or vent until the failed part is found.
Explanation and Quote
You hear what failed and what the repair costs, then decide. Nothing starts without your OK.
Repair and Test
The part goes in, the appliance runs a cycle, and you see that it works before we leave.
How Fisher & Paykel builds its cooktops
Fisher & Paykel cooktops split by fuel, and so do their faults. Gas cooktops and rangetops use sealed burners with spark ignition, and many models relight a burner that a draft blows out. Induction cooktops put power boards and copper coils under the glass, with a cooling fan that has to run to keep those boards alive, plus touch controls that dislike wet or greasy fingers. Radiant electric models use elements under the glass with a limiter on each. The complaints match the type: clicking or no flame on gas, a zone that shuts off or flashes on induction, a dead element on radiant. On induction, a cooling vent choked by an overstuffed drawer underneath can cause shutdowns all by itself.
Parts that tend to fail on Fisher & Paykel cooktops
- Spark electrode or switch fault
- Induction power board failed
- Cooling fan blocked or stopped
- Radiant element open circuit
- Touch control not responding

Fisher & Paykel Cooktop: Questions We Hear
Quick answers to what people ask most. If yours isn't here, bring it up on the phone or type it into the notes box when you book.
Something else on your mind?
Reach out with the brand, the symptom and a model number if you have one. Some questions we can answer on the spot; the rest a technician can check in person.
The boards under the glass make heat and depend on a fan and open space below to shed it. If the fan has failed or the cabinet underneath is packed tight, the cooktop protects itself by shutting down. We check the fan and ventilation first, then the power board.
On many models the glass top is sold as a part. We check availability for your model number and compare it with the cost of a new cooktop before recommending it. Don't cook on a cracked top in the meantime.
